New "Real World" medical datasets available

Please note that we just added fresh new datasets from the medical domain.
This is to emphasize that most currently used datasets do not reflect the current nature of datasets from medical 3D scanners. They are usually too small.

Please go to Download new datasetsnew.

This page is a continuous effort to provide a set of reference datasets, classification tables, and software to be able to compare different volume rendering algorithms. So far, the focus of this page is on rectilinear cartesian grids but we would be happy to extend this if someone provides the necessary input for curvilinear or irregular data.

If somebody owns interesting datasets, classifications, rendering software, etc. and wants to share/provide them, please send us an e-Mail (see bottom) such that we enrich this page. On the other hand, if you use one of the sources provided here (datasets, classifications, software), please reference this page such that more people are able to access this data by adding something like "dataset is courtesy of ..." (e.g. as noted on the dataset page).

Thanks.
